Pr-Nd product prices weakened in November.

Pr-Nd product prices weakened in November. Since the beginning of the month, the listing price of Northern Rare Earth (Group) High-tech for November was the same as that in October, which somehow dampened market confidence. Pr-Nd oxide price fell from 511,500 yuan/mt to 482,500 yuan/mt during the month, down 5.67%. Pr-Nd alloy prices dipped from 627,500 yuan/mt to 591,500 yuan/mt, down 5.74%.

As for middle and heavy rare earth, dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide prices started rebounding since the second half of last month due to large purchases by leading producers from mid-to-late November. As of November 30, dysprosium oxide prices hiked from the lowest of 2.52 million yuan/mt to 2.69 million yuan/mt, up 6.75%. Terbium oxide prices increased from 7.45 million yuan/mt to 7.925 million yuan/mt, up 6.38%.

As for magnetic materials companies, some industry insiders said Pr-Nd alloy plants suffered severe losses amid strong Pr-Nd oxide prices. Few orders from downstream sectors were monitored. With rapid Pr-Nd alloy price erosions, magnetic material factories were less willing to purchase high-priced raw materials. Players were bearish about Pr-Nd product market outlook. Under this circumstance, short-term Pr-Nd product prices may mainly soften.
